-- TNA officials are looking to add some new talent to the roster. Two names that have come up are former WWE stars Joey Mercury and Johnny Parisi a.k.a. Johnny Swinger. Their names have come up several times, but management has yet to pull the trigger on them. Mercury worked a dark match before last year's Bound For Glory pay-per-view, but nothing came out of it. TNA road agent Pat Kenney a.k.a. Simon Diamond has been pitching for Swinger to come in. Swinger & Kenney used to be tag partners in ECW and TNA. Speaking of Kenney, he turned 40 years old last Monday.
-- Kurt Angle is looking to launch an acting career. As of late, he has been spending a lot of time auditioning for various acting roles.
-- SLAM! Wrestling has an article on "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal, and Lethal was asked about "Macho Man" Randy Savage's thoughts on the "Black Machismo" gimmick. Lethal said he has never talked to Savage face-to-face, but has talked to him over the phone. Lethal said, "I was a little skeptical that it was really Macho Man Randy Savage, because there are a lot of people out there who can do his voice. Two months later, I was wrestling (Savage's brother) Lanny Poffo, who confirmed it for me." Regarding Savage's impression on the gimmick, Lethal said, "He was all for it, he gave it a big thumbs up. Hearing that was a huge thrill for me."
-- On Thursday's Impact, there was backstage segment with Jim Cornette yelling at Jeremy Borash for letting Awesome Kong fight a fan in the audience the week before. Borash then told Cornette that it was the highest rated part of the show and he quickly changed his tune. In reality, the Kong vs. Melissa segment did one of the lowest rated quarter hours of the year. The segment drew a 0.82 rating and was the lowest rated portion of the second hour. Furthermore, the match lost 152,000 viewers, the biggest one segment drop of the show. Kong segments almost always lose a good portion of viewers if it looks like a squash match is in store for viewers. For instance, her squash matches with Traci Brooks as well as Salinas earlier in the year lost over 100,000 viewers both times.
In other ratings news for the 5/22 show, one of TNA's biggest ratings draws, Angelina Love, lost viewers in her segment. Her match with ODB lost 13,000 viewers. For the second week in a row, a Matt Morgan match lost a good portion of viewers. His match with Robert Roode lost 76,000 viewers. The week before, his match with Kip James lost 262,000 viewers. The backstage segment with SoCal Val, Jay Lethal, Dutt, and the Rock 'n' Rave lip-synching figured into the 76,000 viewer loss, so the marriage storyline lost a sizable number of viewers for the second week in a row as well. After losing tons of viewers the week before, the Kurt & Karen Angle segment gained 139,000 viewers and was the highest rated part of Impact, doing a 1.06 rating. For the second week in a row, the Sting interview segment performed poorly. His latest interview lost 113,000 viewers. Samoa Joe announcing the competitors in the King of the Mountain match gained 50,000 viewers. And last but not least, the main event featuring Booker T vs. AJ Styles gained a good portion of viewers for a change. The match gained 88,000 viewers.

Why in the holy fuck are TNA looking for new wrestlers? They barely have enough time for the roster as it is without adding more to it.

Since when does TNA develope their talent from within since they started picking up X-wwe guys? ? Oh ya probably when Joe told them "So fire me!" At least they gave him a championship

Seriously, I'm starting to think the TNA staff is seriously retarded. They had it all back in 2004, now I can't even watch one of their shows without being embarrassed.

TNA's biggest problem is the creativity. Look at Jay Lethal and Shark Boy. Both stealing another wrestler's gimmick. Jay Lethal is a copy of Mach Man as Shark Boy is a version of Stone Cold on crack. Shark Boy never really won before this but look at some other things. Brining former WWE stars like Angle and Booker. Angle has been on the top ahead of guys like Christopher Daniels, AJ Styles and Samoa Joe for about two years. They all deserve a run. AJ has had a title run but with his charismatic mic skills and in ring ability, he is a great champion and can run face much better than heel. When he was heel, he was more of a bad competitor if you ask me. He would cheat and never did great moves as he does as a face.
Just my opinion...

I will completely agree that Angle and Book need to back down, suck it up, and go back to WWE. So people like Daniels and AJ can shine, then TRUE TNA guys. But don't bash Shark Boy and Jay Lethal. Those gimmicks are awesome, even if they are copies. Especially because they're so well done.

I never said they were not good. i agree, Lethal does a hell of a job. And Shark Boy is funny as fuck. But TNA needs some creative writers like Bischoff behind the scenes. Vince Russo is probably the reason WCW died in the first place. Bischoff could shape things up and give WWE some real competition. How does Monday Night Impact sound? lol

If they make some major improvements, sounds great. If not, I think I like Thursdays. Because it means that Vince isn't trying to kill them. And even with it's problems, I like TNA where it is quite frankly, lol.

Vince does not even see them as competition. He probably watched the VKM thing with D-Generation X like two years ago and just laughed his ass off. It was some funny shit and you know Vince does not see them as competition or he would try to compete with Impact more. I think TNA is doing well as well just cut out Kurt Angle and old WWE stars from always jumping ship to get a TNA title reign off the back.
But out of them all Christian Cage has done the best. Mid Carder in WWE to Main Eventer in TNA.

Yeah. But as far as I'm concerned, Christian is a real TNA guy now. Because he's been there as long as some of the other TNA guys who came in later. If not longer than some. And because he was lower on the card in WWE, he really moved up. Now granted, I think he'll go back to WWE some day. But right now, he's got it made. He's a Main Eventer in a company that tapes their shows probably half an hour to an hour from his house in Florida. He barely has to travel. Guys like Christian and Rhino are people who I see as TNA guys now. They've devoted enough to the company to make me see them not as people who jumped ship, but guys who simply chose to go to TNA. But people like Booker and Angle, they just got pissy, left WWE, and went to TNA thinking it would be a free ride to the top. Which unfortunately it kinda has been.
I mean, has it come to it where in order for the good guys in the back to get what they deserve, you have to rant on a PPV about it? Because that's what Joe did, and he's the only guy lately who's been getting what he's deserved for a long time.
