This is your unofficial Vengeance feedback thread!! Remember, if we don't get 10 replies then a pixie will die somewhere, possibly in Warriors dorm room. Though that might just have something to do with unwashed socks, but hey.
Anyway, what did you think of the show? Did you have a favourite face? I thought Obi calling out Rivera was cool, and then a minute or so later..... AHHHHH Obi attacked by Luck, but then.... holy shit! We have the return of Xplode and a tag team match lined up!
Favourite Heel? Maybe Titan? comes out to the ring demanding a shot at the title he was never pinned for, when Bull interrupts and we get a stand off. Then Rivera books a fatal four way for the title, chucking Roy Viper into the mix.
Can Scorpion handle three guys gunning for his title? Will Bull get triple teamed by people with strong connections to Rivera? Will Titan just play along until he gets his chance to pounce? Will Viper show that sneaky streak once more and steal an outsider win?
Or maybe your favourite Heel/Face combo was Warrior and Jace? This is shaping up to be one of the more intriguing feuds in the EUW in recent months. It just wont die. These two will not let shit rest! And you can bet the house now it's going to end in a bloody mess somewhere.
Or maybe you're digging the face to face battle between Cross and Tenfold (see what I did there? Genius). It's not really a battle in the traditional sense of beating one another up. It's more like they're trying to out do each other. It's more like a rap battle. Hmmmm.... Mead Hall Rap Battle anyone?
What about Rivera, you can't fire SKYE!!!!
And what about Immanuel Taylor? Dude just straight up thieved Tyreke Bells title. Maybe he's like a crow, maybe he's just attracted to shiny things? I dunno, but it looks like Taylor wont be leaving the HardKore division anytime soon.
Finally the matches. They appeared a little shorter this time which I was digging. It took less time to read and the matches had a bit more punch and action to them.
My only two criticisms would be that each wrestler has five moves in their list, so in such short matches it's a little odd that writers end up deviating from the list. I can understand with a reversal maybe, but the lists should prove sufficient.
And secondly, I miss Xplode falling asleep! It may not be cool with people, but that's Xplode. That's what Xplode would do on commentary. He's only supposed to provide the color, Gibson is there for the filler.
Anyway, that's your unofficial feedback on show results. If you have any problems then please feel free to PM them to The Boss, he handles all my e-mail for me.
And remember, pixies in Warriors room are on their last legs. SAVE THE PIXIES!!!!!

What about Rivera, you can't fire SKYE!!!! Sure he can. Several good reasons 1. Skye never much liked him, and he knows it. 2. She's a link to Toby - even tho they aren't together anymore. It still might irritate Toby. And her being around is a reminder anyway. 3. She's an obvious 'fan-liked' part of the old EUW. Makes perfect sense to me.

MORE LIKE A FAIRY MIGHT DO SOMETHING IN WAR WAR'S BEDROOM, AM I RIGHT? As a match writer, I'll just throw my two cents in on what you said about deviating from the move set. The five listed are signature moves, it's not a full moveset. These are also meant to be powerful moves that might win. Chris Benoit, as an example, had the diving headbutt, triple Germans, snap suplex, knife edge chop and dragon suplex as his five signatures. I wouldn't expect to see all five in every match, probably three or four each time, but he did a lot of other suplexes and submission holds to fill out the match, too. I just think that if we had a one-on-one and limited it to the five moves and finisher that each person has in their bio, then it would be a very short match with a lot of strikes and little else. That's just my two cents though, and I'm English, so they don't mean much! Also, thanks for doing this, Jack.

My take on the move sets was that they used to be, I think 10+ moves. But then that was brought down to 5 (Some people had lists running into the 20's) to make it a little easier on the match writers, filling in the rest with brawling and rest holds. To be honest, if you watch a match with a guys wikipedia move set next to you, you'll find most guys in the big leagues actually very rarely deviate from their lists. You can count the Rocks moveset for example practically on two hands. Even Bret Hart had his five moves of...... DOOM!!!!!!

SAVE THE PIXIES! SAVE THE PIXIES! AND THE FAIRIES!
In other news, while I can't speak for what the match writers consider easier now, back in the day I much preferred more extensive movesets. The more detail there is, the less the match writer has to assume your character would do, and therefore the more your character wrestles like you want them to. I used to have five moves per grappling situation. It was extensive, but that is also a Warrior thing. It made sense, and gave the match writer direct options for practically every scenario. It takes the guessing out of match writing, which I liked. The danger of it is when you get people inserting fifteen or twenty finisher style moves, and moves with names that about sixteen random ROH followers MIGHT know. There's a flaw in both systems, neither is perfect. I think the current accommodates ring psychology more, rather than technicality. So...yeah. Not necessarily a bad thing. Just throwing in my two cents. Which...considering I'm American...means even LESS.

I do prefer a larger moveset, personally, Brett Cross has a very good, clear moveset here. It's got his most-used moves, through to his signatures and so on. I'm not saying it's the best (or even the ideal), but it does help. I usually end up giving a character a moveset belonging to a real pro to help, so that a guy like Jack Bull would basically inherit the Rock's moveset, whilst someone like Immanuel Taylor gets the Benoit moveset.
I look at the five or so moves listed on profiles and makes sure to include some/all of them, but use it as a starting point, coupled with the "ring psychology" and "fighting style" to flesh it out with "filler" moves. By which I mean things like scoop slams or arm drags, the kind of stuff that isn't signature for a lot of people, but would be in an "extended" moveset.

So perhaps an extension to 10 moves might help match writers?
The "12 people who watch ROH" thing made me laugh, I'm with you on that Warrior. It's like if I listed a submission move like the "Chikara Special". I know what that is, I'm guessing a few others might, but how many of the broad spectrum of our guys would know it?

I enjoyed the show quite a bit actually. Very exciting and the lead in to the next show was well done! Luck seems to have Oblivion's number any time he chooses. That dude is crazy! I would say that Xplode helping Oblivion was awesome but for those who been here awhile.. his help always comes at a price. I guess I just gotta wait to see what that price is. The main event picture is actually more exciting than ever! Well done there as well. The stand out points for me were Cross / Tenfold and Taylor / Church. I see huge feuds building there! Very cool. I can't wait for the next broadcast. One question though...
Why fire Skye? Mark Rivera is an asshole.

I have no idea what these fucking are, and I'm sick of having to YouTube people's entire movesets...

For the longest time, we weren't sure what the Zig-Zag was. So every time Ziggler would hit a move we'd go "IT'S THE ZIG-ZAG!"

I enjoyed the show alot. Favorite part of my match was the fact when TJ facepalmed at Travis' screw up. Favorite part of the overall show was when Xplode came back, just had that "Business just picked up!" JR-type moment. I'd give it a 8.5/10
