Blood ran down the blade, along the fuller and pooled up at the hilt until it poured over in to the cracks of the calloused fist surrounding the handle of Brandrwulf. Even the gore that painted the steel seemed to glimmer in a holy light. It was a heavenly item, a piece that seemed to emit a white aura about it. And even through the carnage of war, it shone brightly. Brandrwulf, the trophy of all Cross's hard work. Brandrwulf, Cross's Hardkore Title.
And this blood? The crimson streaks that now defile the symbol of Cross' greatness belong to any and all how attempt to take the blade, the trophy, the title from him. Brandrwulf was what made Cross great. Brandrwulf, this title, was his right to becoming The God of Midgaard. Like King Arthur pulled the sword from the stone, Cross had retrieved Brandrwulf from the Jotunn's lair and claimed it for his own. His divine right, his dynastic privellege, his Brandrwulf.
And this week, like many before him, Liger steps up to take on Cross, and the poor soul will not receive pity. Weeks prior was their first match-up, and he fell short then for the same reason he will fall short this week and for the same reasons Cross has been victorious nearly every time he's stepped in that ring. It would be nothing more than a waste of time and breath to recite the long list of accolades and accomplishments this man's been able to muster. And as for Liger? A lone title, a strap that Cross had garnered many moons ago and many times over. It's a start for the young star, but for Cross its a laughing point that merely shows his opponent's inneptitude and inexperience.
The blood that runs along Brandrwulf is Liger's, and it's anyone elses who wishes to take the Hardcore Title from him. It's the blood of all who stand before him. Because as a warrior, this is his job, this is his right, this is his privellege, this is his life.
((Again, I apologize to everyone here (especially Liger) for what would probably appear to be just an extreme case of laziness. I came home this weekend from college for the first time in a month and didn't find the time between working to prepare for the long trek home or when I finally got here. This coming week, I'll do my best to write my RP up in small increments in the mornings when I seem to have time to breath and see if it will get me to put up something more than 3 paragraphs.))
