Ring Psychology
Payne’s wrestling style is a lot like his personality – slow, simple and powerful. He’s strong, heavy and he packs a powerful punch, but he’s not particularly bright and he certainly isn’t very fast. He’s been a fighter for years, so he has some ring instincts about him, but anyone with a good grip on ring psychology would be able to get into his head without too much trouble. He’s not one for defence, and whilst his attacks are strong and slow, he’s resilient and loaded with stamina. He might only fire off one punch in the time that your average cruiser could launch a volley, but he’ll keep those punches going all day.
How should your character be used?
Jackson Payne is a bully, a racist, a sexist, a homophobe, a thug, a coward, a petty criminal, a troublemaker, a drunk and a man with a serious body odour issue. He disregards vegetables, soap and general clean living as something for "fruits". Just think of every negative trait a person can possess, remove any that require a degree of intelligence, and you've got Payne.
As a character, he'll hang out with other heels and taunt faces for anything he can find. He's not bright, and prone to violence, so he's easily riled and will pick fights with anyone smaller than him, for no reason at all.
Theme Music: "Smash Sumthin'" - Redman (Jackson Payne Remix)
Entrance: The choral opening to "Smash Sumthin'" reverberates around a darkened arena, growing louder until a loud crash brings the lights back on, bright white strobes flashing on and off as Payne walks into view at the top of the ramp, the deafening crash giving way to a louder, angrier version of the song's chorus. Payne marches down the ramp towards the ring, climbing onto the apron and sliding under the bottom rope. Rising to his feet, Payne climbs the nearest turnbuckle and poses with both arms folded, as the crowd jeer him. Payne nods and turns around, jumping down and stretching out both arms as his music fades.
Bio: Jackson Payne, allegedly his real name, is a man synonymous with trouble. Short-tempered, violent and with a rap sheet far longer than his attention span, he's every bit the petty criminal and thug that he looks. From muggings and assault to vandalism and even sexual harrassment, Payne has spent a lot of time in prison, but never for anything too serious, he's more of a nuisance and troublemaker than a serious criminal. Payne's size gives him an intimidating appearance and his violently explosive temperment only adds to this, but he's the standard bully - all bravado and brute force, no brains and a coward, occasionally fuelled by either alcohol/pride into fights he won't win.
After spending a lot of time gaining muscle mass in various prison stints, Payne got into wrestling because the money was good and unscrupulous feds would take on a petty thug that looked the part and turn a blind eye to his conviction history. Having built up a reputation as a powerhouse brawler in the minor leagues, Payne has now come to a new challenge in the EUW, where his criminal record might be a few years behind him, but the same attitude still lingers like a bad smell.
