Hello friends,
Well as most of you all know, I am wrapping up the Oblivion character at Prestige. It was very hard to come to this decision as I have grown to think of the character as an extension of my own self in a weird way. Anyway, I want to personally thank all who have been a part of that story along the way. It was truly an amazing ride. Over the last month or so, I have begun to do a little soul searching within myself. Inventing characters such as TITAN and Omek was a great experience for me on many levels and I am very proud of how they have all turned out. The thing is though, I think my time as an efedder may be coming to a close all together. I don’t feel that excitement like I used to when logging in (This has nothing to do with the fed or it’s staff.) anymore. I think I may have exhausted all of my ideas for now and this has left me at a crossroads. I am the type of writer than loves to plan out his storylines. With Oblivion coming to a close, I guess I feel empty as far as ideas now. (TITAN is a mindless monster, he is easy, lol.)
So, this is what I am going to do. As most of you all saw, Damaged Goods has been retired. Oblivion wraps up at Prestige. As far as TITAN is concerned, I may put him on hiatus when / if I lose the World Title for awhile, and just take a break from efedding. There is something missing for me in efedding in general that was there when I started so long ago. It’s just not the same for me at this point, I guess. I long for the days when the EUW would just enjoy putting on a damn good show, and enjoy the family that we formed here. Just like the world of Professional wrestling in real life, the company has become more business like, and a lot of the things that kept me excited have long gone by. I am not opposed to the idea though that I may just be tired after doing it so long though, and I may be putting more on it that I should. Either way, it is my time.
I want to ask something of the new generation though as I head towards my finale. This company, the EUW, is a fed that was built on respect and love for the hobby. Good men have come through here that truly enjoyed the fun of competing. It was never about title belts or placement upon a card. People didn’t go out of their way to bring a member down but instead tried to build them up with praise and constructive ideas! This was the EUW that I was born from, and now I leave it to all of you. Take care of this place, and love it as I do. Love it as all of the past members who fought in that imaginary ring once did.
Keep on rollin’.
Toby.

Thank you, Toby. Your words, especially the part about things becoming a business have hit home for me. As I said earlier to you, you deserve a break or whatever you wish it to be. The door will always be open for you in any capacity should you wish to return.

You certainly deserve a break, m'dear. Between writing the characters, and your time here as owner, you've kept a constant hand in for a long, long while. You've contributed so much to the EUW, you'll not be forgotten soon. Plus, I'm betting you'll be hanging around the OOC to harass everyone a good bit Rest up hun, *hugs* Always your #1 fan, Skye

Thank you, guys and gals.
Roy, I would love to hit up a bar and share a brew with you. You have shown that you have that “Locker room leader” mentality. Don’t lose that. This is a strong trait, even in an efed. You will say things that people do not necessarily understand or enjoy, but they will know that you mean well and that your focus is on being productive. Keep up the good work. As for Skye, if anything I am your number one fan! You stuck by my side for a long time here and we shared some great storylines. The Skye character is an integral part of the Oblivion character, and for that I thank you. Last but not least, Xplode, thanks again. I am not walking away from the fed OOC wise. I will still be around here and there. Of course, none of this will happen until TITAN loses that strap, and I don’t intend on giving it up without a fight.
*tips hat.

After 8 years writing multiple characters I'm not surprised you feel the need for a break. There's not much I can say that hasn't already been said or isn't obvious. You're a huge part of EUW, and if/when you leave you'll leave a void that will never be filled by anything but your return. I'm glad you're sticking around OOC as I can safely say everyone here looks up to you in one way or another, and I hope after a well deserved break you get that itch and a rejuvenated desire for fedding. We love you, man!

-slow clap- If there's every been anyone in EUW that would serve as an inspiration in all facets of e-fedding, (OOC, IC, even running the damn place) it's you. If there was one thing I've worked towards with the Cross character was to get the compliment of "You write a narrative almost as good as Oblivion." And you were also the one who convinced me to finally not take this so seriously and to write for myself. I speak both personally, and on behalf of everyone in the EUW for everything you did for this place, thanks for everything, Obi. I remember seeing you come in to EUW with 'Taker as your poser and thinking you were nothing more than a copy-cat character. You leave being my biggest inspiration.

It's like I have so much to say to you but yet none of them convey the admiration that I feel for you both as a writer and as a friend. In the time that I have been efedding, here and in the V.I.P, you have always been one of the most respected guys that I have known. I won't comment on your writing because I can't possibly say anything that hasn't already been said. What I will say is this. -There are times when I see my name on the card, and I notice that my opponent is one of the best on the net. It's those times that I sit there and go "Shit, I don't think I can win this. I will do my best though."-Then there are those rare times that I see my name on the card, and I notice that my opponent is you. It's those times that I sit back and say "Very cool. This will be fun either way and I may learn something in the process."That is how I feel about you as an efedder. You played the game the way it was meant to be played and stayed true to the hobby. Thanks for being around to offer advice when needed. Also, thanks for "slapping" me up and making me realize just how much of a douche I had been on these boards. Enjoy your time off. You have earned it. Take care. Your friend, T.J

Wow, thank you. Thank you very much.
Tom- The words you spoke really mattered to me. On my side of the fence, I have been also a fan of yours. Your ability to write is absolutely inspiring. Thank you, friend. You have always been a great friend and a colleague. Tom, I am grateful for having met you. On a efed level, you have pushed me to be the best that I could be. On a private level, you have always reminded me that there are people out there who enjoy writing the story and less on what "belts" come their way. In you, I find a kindred spirit.
Linc- Hey buddy. You and I also go back a bit don't we? Linc, knowing you has been a pleasure. The feuds we have had and the storylines we have come up with will always remain with me. Thank you for being a good friend to me, man. I will always value the OOC friendship that we created and remember it fondly. You are one of the best we have had here. I mean that. P.S: Sorry if I gave you shit when you were owner, lol. It was a weird time for me.
Danny (Rob)- Thank you as well, friend. Even though the Tenfold character may be new in an efedding sense, you have been around for a long time. To hear these words from you is a compliment that I am only happy to accept. I love every one of you guys and girls like you are my own family. It's nice to see people like you around to bring on the future of the EUW.
CJ- I did not expect that post at all. You really took me by surprise. If I have helped you grow as a fed member at all, than that is the highest compliment a peer can offer me. Now, get writing and get back in the ring. It's time for CJ to really show us who he is.

I know you'll be back Obi, I said the same thing to your brother. You'll sit back and think your leaving and you'll find that spark again. That being said, I think this topic speaks volume about everything you bring to EUW. It was an honor to work with you as Dante for as long as we did. I've had a lot of great feuds, but that was one of, if not the funnest that I've had with anyone in this game. Here's to you Obi, I got the first case.

I've held off posting in this topic because I honestly don't think words can do you justice Oblivion. You have always managed to write interesting characters, and your name has pretty-much become shorthand in this fed for "the absolute pinnacle of talent." Titan, in anyone else's hands, probably would just be a generic monster heel, but you really gave him life, really gave him character...That's the Midas Oblivion touch, I guess. Hardly anyone else can do it.
Since day one, you've shown the qualities of being a locker room leader, of being pretty much a General amongst the fed. When you speak, people listen and pay attention, because you rarely (if ever) let emotions cloud your judgment, and always speak wisely yet truthfully. You manage to defuse drama whenever you can. You never have an utterly harsh word to say, you give critique, you take critique...and to be honest, if there were a lot more fedders like you, a lot more people would really enjoy this hobby.
Hopefully, we can one day totally stomp out this drama, stomp out the whining, stomp out the "ITZ FIXED AND BIASED!" allegations, stomp out the needless bickering and bitching, stomp out the desire to get a title shot and only to get a title shot...and bring back the FUN. After recent events, and because we've had to pull the strings..it might take some work, but all we can do is try. I hope that your words, as they have always done during your tenure here, have drove sense into the members, both the new, and the old.
Hopefully you'll stick around the OOC, and if you ever feel the need to lace the boots back up and dive right in, the door will always be open for you. However, I feel that you have more than earned a break. It's time to let the hair down, break the Harley out, and not worry about the Asylum. It will still be here when you return.
When and if you lost the title, I'll raise my glass to you. I'll have no shame in that..Hell, God willing, just like Roy, i'd love to raise a glass with you. You truly are one in an million billion lifetime eternity.
You've earned your rest, you've earned your title as one of the best, and you've earned the respect of absolutely everyone in the EUW, whether they are still with us or not.
Slàinte mhòr agus a h-uile beannachd duibh! (Great health, and every good blessing to you!)
-Phil-

James, Phil...
James: I am sorry it took me so long to reply to your kind words. The reason is that I was quite touched by the things that you said. James, it has and always will be a pleasure to work with you in any capacity. You are a fine writer, a loyal friend, and a person that benefits anyone whom you decide to interact with in a positive way. The energy that you bring to the EUW is infectious. Thank you, my friend, for the fond farewell. Sadly, I do not plan on changing my mind after Prestige though. I am finally going to write my book. I am actually quite excited about it. I will be around though for OOC.
Phil: Thank you. When I read your reply, I actually teared up. You really spoke to me in a way that truly let me know.. not what I am losing by stepping away but what I have gained. Thank you, Phil. It has been an absolute honor to work alongside and against you. You are an amazing person and integral to this fed. I want you to know that.
As for the drama and such, I won't comment on it. You guys have this all under control. Will I return one day and compete again? Maybe after I am done with my book if my life permits it. I love competing, and I love this fed. EVERY ONE of you is an important piece of my life, believe it or not. I almost feel like I know you all in person at this point. So, again, thank you to everybody. On to prestige!

Man, I didn't see this sooner? Dang... Anyways, I'm not exactly an EUW historian or even someone who contributed much during my short time here. Despite that, I fuckin' knew the name Oblivion. Your name spread pretty far in the cyber wrestling circle and that alone means you were pretty damn good at it. Then I joined and realize you're more than just awesome, you're a really down to Earth and relaxed dude. Godspeed, Obi...may you enjoy this season of Sons of Anarchy.

I wasn’t going to reply to this thread more than I have. Truth be told, I felt that I have expressed my thoughts to you as a writer over the years that we have done this together. I just figured I would catch up to you and say my peace to you in person. It seems though that every time I get the chance to do so, the words escape me. So as I sit here, relaxing at the PC and enjoying a ice cold pepsi, I think I will just lay it all out here because in truth, the Oblivion and Xplode saga has been pretty much about the business, so a proper farewell should be the same way. Obi, You have been an inspiration to me as a writer and as a efed member from day 1. I have had the pleasure of watching you grow into what I feel in my opinion is the greatest efed writer I have ever experienced. I say this with confidence, not just from my own thoughts but by the countless others you have influenced over the years who say the same thing. You have taken the “Ring general” role, and never shied away from it. You always seem to know when to call a person on their shit here and the right way to do it, and they always seem to respond in kind because they know that if Oblivion is calling you out.. Then it is needed. You are that respected. We all know that you are about the hobby, and that all you want from us is to be productive and respectful to one another. That is a rare thing these days. I say this because a lot of the time I try to act “professional” as the owner here but in truth, I am just acting. You come from the heart, and I think people see that. As a writer, you have been headlining our shows for a long time now. You were leading the way long before I was an owner here (Yup, he isn’t on top because he is related to the owner ) and I have even seen you go off to other feds and do the very same thing. You are the guy who everyone wants to feud with, not because they want to beat you.. but because it is an experience that makes this whole hobby worth it. It’s funny, I have striven my whole fed career to be one of the legends on the net. I have fought in countless efeds, put my name out there, all in hopes of being that guy who everybody knows. Yet, it all comes natural to you. Not because you try.. But because you do. Your writing is that good. You lead by example. You never no show and you always know the right thing to say. You have become “that guy” that everyone knows on the net. I have heard some people call you “the Hulk Hogan” of efedding, others have called you “The Undertaker” of fedding due to your presence as well. The truth is, you are Oblivion, an EUW Hall of Famer.. And if the internet knows of you than we all should take pride in this, because the EUW is you in a way. You have brought positive attention to this fed on a grander scale and I thank you for that. So yes, I give you shit and constantly challenge you. I do this because I want to be the best. You.. Are the best. I am not “The guy” everyone knows on the net. I am Oblivion’s little brother. You know what though? I am fine with that. I am damn proud to be your brother. Enjoy your time away, the EUW will be waiting for you when you eventually decide to return. -Jaden.
