Name: Natalie Burrows.
Age: 23.
Hometown: Durham, North Carolina.
Weight: 173 lbs.
"Billed" Height: 5'10".
Theme Song: "Unbreakable" by Fireflight.
Wrestling style: Unconventional striker (think RVD, but sans flips) with a bit of power, when appropriate.
Poser: Taylor Swift.
Fan Reaction: The fans love Natalie to bits and pieces… and she loves them just as much in return, if not moreso since they make it possible for her to live her dream.
Participates in HardKore Style Matches? (Yes or No): Natalie will compete in hardcore matches if she must, but she eschews the use of weapons unless under extreme (read: year-long feud with a heel that has raped her dog, or something similar) duress… so she would be going in at a disadvantage. She has succeeded in overcoming those odds in the past, though, so not all hope would be lost.
List 5 Signature Moves used by this Star.
- Denial (Springboard wheel kick to the back).
- Turmoil (Leaping leg lariat).
- Epiphany (Feint shining wizard transitioned into a reverse roundhouse - also known as Low Ki's 'Black Magic').
- The Grief Cycle (Tilt-a-Whirl backbreaker).
- Acceptance (Springboard roaring elbow).
Finishers.
- Primary Finisher: Closure (Scissors Kick).
- Secondary Finisher: Hitting Bottom (Rydeen Bomb (Sky High variant)).
Ring Psychology: Above all else, Natalie believes in earning her wins fairly. This means that she won't cheat, and she won't take advantage of someone else's cheating either-- not if she knows it happened, anyway. As mentioned above, she also won't use weapons without it being either a very desperate situation (like, say, 7-on-1 odds) or a long, looong blood feud ending. There's also the matter of her protecting those she cares about-- Brandon Young, especially-- but that falls under extenuating circumstances.
How should your character be used?: Like a male cruiserweight. You know my feelings on generic women-fighting-men BS storylines, so no need to reiterate that, I hope. Just keep in mind that she's a polite, not-swearing Southern Belle that balks at doing things that she considers to be wrong… and if a straight babyface wouldn't do it? Chances are she won't, either.
Entrance:
The arena goes black, a darkness that lingers for a few seconds before the Jumbotron comes to life. Footage that has been treated to look old, faded rolls of the Southern Belle fighting her way back up to her feet after being knocked down-- and the moment that she appears on the screen, the crowd cheers loudly for the fan-favorite that is about to come out. As the blond regains her feet in that video footage, bruised and battered but still willing to fight, her voice rings out over a rising guitar riff.

The chorus of 'Unbreakable' hits the sound system with a vengeance, the song competing with the cheers that fill the air as Natalie Burrows walks emerges from behind the curtain, a bit of a spring in her step. Thrusting the Lionheart Championship above her head with both hands, The Southern Belle pauses for a moment to soak in the affection of the fans with a smile on her face before she brings the belt back down, placing it on her right shoulder with care. Slapping as many hands as she can while she heads down the ramp, she speeds up about two-thirds of the way down before running toward the ring, sliding into it feet-first. Standing up in quick order, Natalie makes her way over to the nearest turnbuckle as she raises the championship she's worked so hard to attain over her head one more time, basking in the crowd's reaction before she hops down. Carefully handing her championship to a ringside attendant, she does some minor stretches as she readies herself for the match at hand.
Bio: The only child of a traveling insurance salesman (Robert) and a homemaker that chose to give up her career as a seamstress in order to stay at home (Angela), Natalie's life was largely unremarkable as she grew up in Durham, North Carolina. A straight-B student, the teachers never had a problem with the little blond and she was well-liked by her peers for her sunny disposition. This affection extended into the local independant wrestling scene; while he never climbed through the ropes, Robbie was a fixture of the indies, the guy that kept records and wrangled arrangements for different promotions to have their shows. Add onto that a friendship with Morgan Reid, one of the most notable talents of the time and region, and it was no surprise that Natalie became a fan... although she wasn't going to get into the business at first. Rather, she wound up on track for a scholarship with Duke University in their teaching program. Everything in Natalie's life was as good as it got until one afternoon when she was suddenly called to the principal's office in the middle of her Chemistry class. It was the news she received that shook her world to its very core.
On his way to an appointment with a prospective client, her father had been in a car accident.
A drunk driver in a truck t-boned his old sedan after running a red light. As seems to be common luck, the intoxicated speeder walked away without so much as a scratch while the Burrows patriarch left the scene of the accident in a body bag. The community did what they could to help out, of course, but there was only so much that they could do. The one question that needed asking that no one could bring themselves to voice was a simple one, yet dastardly complicated all at once; how was the small family Robert left behind going to cope with his death? Hitting the bottle, ironically enough, was her mother's answer to that question, a decision that would ultimately lead to Natalie taking her share of the inheritance and leaving one afternoon while Angela was at the local watering hole after months and months of arguing. There wasn't much left after paying off her father's debts - something else Angela neglected to do - but it was enough to enroll her in wrestling school (with a discount provided by Morgan Reid, one of the two wrestlers that trained her) and buy a ramshackle old plantation house in Placid Valley. Training for two years with the sort of fervent passion that is rarely found, Natalie set her sights high for her debut… a near-impossible task.
Debuting in a hardcore elimination match with eight other competitors, not only did the underdog Southern Belle walk out the winner with half of the eliminations to her credit, but she did it without picking up a single weapon-- the only competitor to ever do so, in Hardkore World's twenty-plus years of operation. She then went on to win the Hardkore World Women's Championship from Yuku Shiro in a grueling half-hour match that proved, concretely, that her success was not a fluke… although an injury soonafter involving her leg cost her that title in her first defense.
Also of note is her run in the Volatile Wrestling Alliance, where she worked her fingers to the bone in a lengthy path to the Women's Championship there. VWA is where she picked up the unofficial moniker 'The Southern Belle', and also persevered in the face of tragedy, having lost her mother right before the match with Sloan Sawyer in which she would win contendership to the title she was after. Going on to defeat Amy Chastaine at Crisis of Faith, Natalie would be the last woman to hold that coveted title, VWA going under due to a power struggle between Jude and Shane Lawson soonafter.
Undeterred, Natalie made her way through a couple of flash-in-the-pan companies before making her way to the EUW… where she would make history. After a strong performance in the Royal Rumble at Scars and Stripes 2011, the Southern Belle declared her intent to compete for the Lionheart Championship-- and when given the opportunity to earn her opportunity, she was successful. Managing to keep Roy Viper and Danny Tenfold both on their toes, she ultimately became the first woman to ever hold a title in the EUW when she pinned Danny Tenfold at Prestige 2011 after an exhausting match. EUW is also where she met one Brandon Young, the Young Gun someone that she'd met previously under… less than flattering circumstances. Despite their rocky past, the two fell in love-- and are newly official.
Accomplishments: 1x Lionheart Champion (current - won at Prestige (11/27/2011) from Danny Tenfold).
