Okay, first of all, I want to state that should Warrior be unhappy with this thread, I am okay with him removing it. I just want to take a roll call on here to see who is interested when it comes to efedding any longer, be it EUW or the newly titled IPW. This will play a big part in the thought process of building the new fed. So anyway, if you would not mind answering the questions below? Nothing is concrete yet and you won't be committing yourself fully to anything. - Are you interested in efedding still?
- If so, with what character(s)?
- Will you be registering on the IPW site once it opens?
- If not, are you only committed to the EUW?
- Are you okay with starting fresh? (Record wise and Title History)
- Are you okay with a single judge for a show?
- Are you okay with two judges who take turns judging shows?
- Are you fine with an official ranking set up? (Example: Number one contender would have to work his way up the rankings to earn a shot at title.)
- Would a bi-weekly schedule still work for you?
- Should you agree to write once more, are there suggestions that you would like to talk about? _______________________________
Thanks in advance. Like I said, this is really to see where everyone's heads are at. Basically I want to see the initial interest in the idea of opening a new fed. I will also be posting these questions (Sans the EUW stuff) on other boards. Thanks in advance. I want to state one thing as well. I will not be writing a character in this fed as I have already committed myself elsewhere. I will be helping out with the running of the company though should it go active.

Awesome! Anybody else want to chime in here? To give you all a window in to any progress that is being made, a full on ranking system has almost been completely worked out! This should eliminate repeated title shots by the same person and spread the love around! Stay tuned. In the mean time, let's hear from more folks.

Are you interested in efedding still? Not really. (Although once the new fed opens, I may get the hunger back. Not sure.) If so, with what character(s)? If I ever do decide to return, it will be with a brand new character. Will you be registering on the IPW site once it opens? Of course. I still want to shoot the shit once in a while with people.
If not, are you only committed to the EUW? Are you okay with starting fresh? (Record wise and Title History) Indeed. That should be what a new fed is all about. Are you okay with a single judge for a show? Considering I have zero interest in returning (yet), take this for what you will: Having a single judge judging matches isn't the best decision to make. I think having at least two judges should be the standard. I feel like there should be differing opinions and tastes when it comes to judging. Also, maybe a hint of paranoia, but once people see what the sole judge likes, there may be pandering to the judges interest which wouldn't really do good for a writers skill. Also, you'd be in danger of people bringing up the old "politics!!" shite, especially if one guy who knows you goes on a good run and a new guy goes on a bad run. (It's how a lot of e-fedders tend to think.) Are you okay with two judges who take turns judging shows? See above. Are you fine with an official ranking set up? (Example: Number one contender would have to work his way up the rankings to earn a shot at title.) I don't know why e-feds DON'T have ranking systems. I like 'em. Thumbs up. Would a bi-weekly schedule still work for you? If I ever decide to return, a bi-weekly schedule would be the decider for me: Yes. I can't see myself RPing weekly. Should you agree to write once more, are there suggestions that you would like to talk about? Not sure if it should go here per se, but hell: Stomp out any politics/flamewars/arguments etc; where you can as soon as you can. Keep troublemakers out, ban them, do whatever it takes: All it does is kill e-feds and kill the interest of members in it.

Are you interested in efedding still? - Mmmm, kind of. Depends how it all comes together and how my work pans out.
If so, with what character(s)? - Jack Bull. Still more fun to be had I think.
Will you be registering on the IPW site once it opens? - I'd imagine so.
Are you okay with starting fresh? (Record wise and Title History) - Yep.
Are you okay with a single judge for a show? - Absolutely! For those not old enough to remember e-fedding at the turn of the century, which I think is basically everyone except me and Obi, this is how it nearly always used to be. The fed head was the judge, juror and executioner (and occassional match writer).
The main advantage to this is that you have a single source of authority on matches. There are no discussions, no debates, no questions. One man (or woman) decides it all.
The key result of that is then two fold;
1) If you lost, you know precisely who it was that voted against you, which means, 2) You know how to adjust for next time,
The judge posts their guidelines which means you can clearly lay out your promo with this in mind. Now it might be tempting to see this as a negative but personally I've always known it to help people focus, especially if you have difficulty finding a theme for your promos. Having multiple judges with multiple tastes just confuses the matter, as you nearly always end up trying to balance different elements to catch all their interest, and end up pleasing nobody.
Yes, it can be annoying if you prefer to write a certain style and the judge is not overly keen on that style, but you can see it as a challenge or just write your own style for fun.
In the long run though, single judge systems have much better track records than multi-judge systems, typically lasting much longer and over time drawing in a like minded band of writers which helps to add to the "feel" of a promotion (like in RL Chikara draws colorful, comedic characters. ROH draws, or at least used to, the best technical wrestlers).
Are you okay with two judges who take turns judging shows? -It's not ideal, but if it's done that way it is probably best to have two judges who either a) think precisely the same or b) are polar opposites. A makes two judges effectively become one while B ensures that people can write their own style and still pick up wins every now and again, while avoiding a dominant champion.
Are you fine with an official ranking set up? - Theoretically yes. In practice they tend to work very badly, especially when the system of progression/regression is poorly defined. Note the multiple attempts that RL feds have made to introduce a ranking system, only to abandon it shortly afterwards.
I think a better system is to just wing it, using storylines to help drive the system, but sticking to the broad rule that newer entrants have to work their way up before they get a crack at the top titles.
Would a bi-weekly schedule still work for you? - If I was competing, yes.
General Notes: - Let people vent. Drama is not good for a fed, it disrupts the group and it is a bollock ache to deal with as a fed head, but worse is to let shit simmer away in the background until it all explodes. Dealing with drama and resolving issues in an open and honest manner is one of the key responsibilities that fed heads take on in exchange for playing fantasy booker. - Timely results are always important. Find a way to keep the length of results down. Most matches on a TV show don't last over 5 minutes. Start writing them early and try to coax the entire community, not just staff into match writing. - Give Jack Bull's handler all your money. He's trustworthy, honest. I've known the guy nearly 30 years, it's fine, he'll take care of it for you. - Never run out of beer. Anticipate the expiry of beer supplies and plan accordingly.

Great turn out already! Awesome.
To address something about letting people speak their minds, I learned a few things during my last run as a fed head. Pretty much, I am not here to play babysitter this time. I am going to just treat everybody as adults as it should be. People will be welcome to talk about stuff all they want. If it becomes redundant and nothing more than a bitch fight, warnings will be handed out to all involved. That seems pretty fair to me. I do agree that people should be free to speak their mind though as long as it isn't abused or rooted in immaturity. Does that make sense?
The EUW did not close down due to any one person leaving, I want to make that clear. It closed down because of lack of participation and a myriad of things. One of the reasons of starting in a new fed and new location is to do just that... start new. No hard feelings or grudges will be kept. I just want to have fun and do things right this time. Period. I hope that makes sense, I am pretty tired.

One more thing. I got an update for you all. The new fed site will be open to register probably next week. We are almost there! The reason for the slow going is that we want to do it right and really cover our bases this time.

Will Sabora or I get banned for telling you the truth? Only if he can't handle the truth. lol! To answer you, James... I am not touching that UWL stuff with a ten foot pole. From a fed head point of view, I have been there and done that. I will let Jefferson deal with that issue. There will always be drama in efeds, especially as they grow. Talking it out is fine as long as it doesn't turn into a bitch fight.
