I have always felt, and I know many others have, that it seems like just when EUW has its roughest times, yet again it shall rise from the ashes and start again. Something happens, but someone else just won't let the place die. Time and time again, we continue this cycle. I even remember the day when I myself played a major part in a huge revival. It was, oh wow, something like four years ago. But whether it be myself, Ash, Xplode, Obi, Phil, King, or whomever. Not to mention the multitude of people who have played integral roles helping and being staff.
So it is with this, and with the blessing having already spoken to Obi, X, and Phil, that I say we shall rise again. I have nothing but the utmost respect for all three of those men. They've all done spectacular jobs in their time. Here I am, once again, and I feel that it is once again my time to lift EUW back to its feet. I feel what EUW needs is a clean slate. I'm going to say right now that there will be some definite changes. Much of that will come soon and I will be making the storyline and in-fed changes known via articles on our EUW.com board. I have confirmations from some that I've been in touch with via AIM or by phone as to who will be active in this revival. I need PMs or some form of direct message or contact because I absolutely have to have a definitive head count as I bring things back up.
I mulled over this some, and have decided to vacate our championships. A clean slate is what we need right now. Couple that with key motivation, and we can get things going well fast. I'm often opposed to tournaments, but we will hold a tournament to crown a new EUW World Champion on the very first show. Understand that not only will this be about crowning a champion, but also about beginning storylines and trying to find everyone's place. The World Championship is not the only title around. In following shows we will handle the rest.
But enough of that. Our first show back will be February 6th. I need everyone who will be here and be active to contact me by January 23rd, or the 25th at the absolute latest. The card will be up on the 25th at the latest, hopefully on the 23rd or 24th. I am moving shows back to Mondays because it fits into my work schedule. Deadlines for roleplays will be on Saturday nights by 11:59 PM, Central Time.
Anyone who will be able to write matches for shows, please contact me as soon as possible and let me know how many you could write and how often. Also, anyone who is not going to be active, but would like to participate as a staff member, especially those who have been staff in the past, please also contact me as soon as possible. In the meantime, I will be posting articles covering in-story changes and reorganizing the boards.
We're EUW. We're too stubborn to die.

Huzzah for staying alive! Kinda bummed at vacating the titles though.

On one hand, Natalie's grumbling in my head at once again not being able to defend a championship that she has won. ("Not again, gosh darn it!") On the other hand? I said I'd be here when things got rolling again, and that's what I meant.
Count me in.

Oh, I know. It's just something of a quirk that's developed in Nat's career. Namely? Every time she becomes a singles champion, something comes up where she can't defend it.

That's what it most important. I'm admittedly still not thrilled at this development-- and now I'm even less so, now that I'm getting the vibe that Toby's not gonna be staying around. For one, I want my damn rematch... and for another? The more that time passes, the less easier that this sits with me-- and since I've never been one to hold my tongue, I'm not about to start now.
Riddle me this, Warrior; is your clean slate worth alienating three talented handlers that all worked their tails off to keep EUW alive rather than only giving a damn once it was gone?

Haveto agree with Kris here. I don't particularly like the way things seem to be going.. The clean slate thing not only negates the work of the few of us handlers who actually stuck around through to the end, but it also basically shits on all of the work Phil did in trying to build this place back up again. It also irks me that all of these people are coming out of the woodwork NOW to say "oh I'll help" "Oh I wish I could've helped" when not a week ago Phil basically begged for someone, ANYONE to step up and play. I think we needed one more person to have a card and keep the show going, yet he got nothing. And then when he calls it quits, suddenly we've got this influx of people who haven't shown up in months.
Seems mighty suspicious to me, I'll be honest.
But yeah, the more I think about I too am more than a little irritated at having to lose our titles and start back from square one, World title chance or not.

I mean, speaking as a former fedhead and current staff member elsewhere it makes zero sense to completely wipe out everything that's been built upon for the last however many months, especially since Phil made the announcement THREE DAYS AGO. I could see if the fed was left laying for a month or two and then somebody decided to come up with a plan to rebuild it. That would be one thing and would make sense to maybe restart everything from scratch as there would've been some distance between the two versions of the fed. However, as has been stated that isn't what happened.
What is likely to happen -and this is a view shared between Kris and myself- is that new people are going to come on, see that the fed closed, then reopened so quickly and (imo, and Kris's) completely shat on the old champions in favor of the "new regime" in such a quick turn of frame, and likely will be turned off by that fact.
It just seems like we are taking a huge step backwards for no reason to me, I don't really mind losing the Hardkore Championship but the Lionheart Championship and Natalie's run up to winning it were HUGE things in both the development of the character and the fed itself, with her being the first ever female champion and all that, and to just throw it away so quickly when you could've just carried on with the show just.. I dunno. It doesn't sit right with me.
In a 12 minute talk on the phone Kris and I came up with something that should've been an easy thing for anyone to come up with, that both keeps the people who stayed here till the very end happy (since as has been pointed out now it seems you've upset Toby as well) and given a reason for new to people to join in as well.
Please note I am not trying to tell you how to run the fed, this is just an example of things that would've made more sense than destroying all the history the previous fedhead who hasn't even been gone a week built up.
What you do is you keep your champions in tact, since they busted their asses for this place until the end and deserve to be respected and repaid for it. And then you hold a tournament between the non-champions. Winner of the tournament gets a World title shot, second place gets a Lionheart Title shot, 3rd place can have a Hardkore Title shot.
BOOM! Instant contenders and ready-made feuds. And for even more fun, as the main event of one of the shows (or if the tournament took place on one show than on that show itself), just for shits and giggles you throw together a Non-title Champions match. Triple Threat with all 3 champions vying to see who really is the "best" of the best.
It's really a simple solution to a not so hard problem. It keeps the people who stayed here happy (which honestly were your champions and Stevie, also I might give Stevie a bye to the second round or something but that's neither here nor there), as well as giving new people a perfect opportunity to jump right in and get involved in the fed. Makes everyone feel included and it doesn't disrespect the past of the fed that hasn't even been gone for that long yet. Because I'll be honest, that's what this clean slate thing feels like: Disrespect.
Again, I am not trying to start anything, but I feel this needed to be said.

I am reconsidering it. Whoops, didn't see this before I posted my last post, but this is good to hear, and I will wait to see what you decide before doing anything further. Again, I hope you don't take my previous post the wrong way, as I didn't mean it as an attack, but we both (Kris and I)feel pretty strongly about this. But I am happy to see you'll at least be considering things.

This is how I feel about it. It sort of walks the fence so I am sorry in advance. I had a knee jerk reaction to the title vacating due in part to what Nat said. She is right. As champions, we really busted our asses to keep that distinction. I have faced some pretty tough opponents in title situations, Prestige comes to mind, and so my first reaction was annoyance. I felt like I was wronged. I can totally understand Nat and Brandon with their points.
On the flip side though, this is just a hobby. If vacating my title will stir people to return and get the EUW going once more, then I say take it. I just want to have fun here as does everyone else. There is no point to being a World Champion if the belt belongs to a dead fed, right?
So, no matter what Warrior decides, I support him. As for myself, I am not leaving. I just need time off for awhile to get back to where I can write up to my normal ability. This will lend me that time to do so. So perhaps it is a blessing in disguise?
Natalie (Kris), congrats on becoming the first woman's champion of the EUW. No one can ever take that away from you.

I've contacted a few people and based on the situation we have right now, I am still vacating. I get where y'all are coming from guys, and I do have a plan to reward y'all for the hard work that was put in.
I am not returning the Hardcore Championship until we have more numbers. Three titles at the moment is silly. I will handle the return of the Pure Championship on a later show. As for the World Championship, Monday Night Suicide will open with a World Championship match between Natalie and Brandon. The winner will be the new World Champion. Following that match there will be a tournament between all of our other competitors, just as promised. Whoever wins that tournament will challenge the freshly crowned World Champion in the Main Event that very same night. Either our new champion will successfully defend, or we will crown another new champion in the same night.

While I appreciate the opportunity, I must respectfully decline.
You keep missing the point Tim and I are making. We don't want a free pass to the world title match, or even to the world title scene. What we want is what we've earned-- nothing more, nothing less. That's why I suggested, in one of the AIM conversations that we had, that the people that were here when EUW closed and rode it out to the bitter end, should get byes past the first round since we've earned our way up past the opening bout level of competition.
Now, if TITAN were going to be active, I'd say give him one half of the match for the world title since he'd gotten there, earned the right to be called the best... and he should have a world title shot when he comes back, in my opinion.

There's a part of me that wants to say 'that was quick' about the closing and re-opening of this fed in roughly a week.
But I won't. I had problems with my internet provider a while ago and I was expecting to be off line for a couple of months. I went to an internet cafe and posted an explination on the fed's boards letting them know I wouldn't be on line and why so I wasn't declared a no show.
Mere hours after I got home the internet problem was fixed and I had to go back t the board and say 'forget the previous statement, I'm ready to be booked'
What I'm trying to say is that I know how quick it can turn around when you think things are down and out
As for the titles, I get the vacancy. I've restarted a couple of times before and the change has to go through the company and start with a blank canvas. I'm not just saying that because I stand to get a bit of in-character progress.
As for Stevie getting a second round bye. Assuming said Stevie was me, I don't want it. Half the fun is in the early round. Although I won't say 'No' to a Gillberg like first round match.
Good to see we're back up.
