Roy was seated on the corner bar stool with a smile on his face as he sipped his meed. Looking around he couldn’t see much the lights were being flashed for the people that wanted to dance. The walls were painted so that they glowed when the black lights were on and the neon rainbow would tire Roy if he looked at it for too long. No pictures hung from the walls due to the new nature of this place. The DJ was blasting his random mixes of onto the dance floor while the crowd of drunken party goers jumped or grinded to its bass beat. The bar was the only decent thing in the place as far as Roy was considered. The finished maple gave the texture the right feel, while the padded stools weren’t too stiff or soft, but the most important thing was to Roy was that he never saw a bottle on the wall that was repeated. However, Roy honestly had no clue where he was or what the places name was he had come here because it was close and he wanted a drink to celebrate. So he sat there away from the crowd watching some individuals that caught his eye, seeing if he could predict their movements before they left the dance floor. Roy had been so focused on the crowd that he didn’t notice the red head approach him from down the bar “Like what you see?” she whispered in his ear. Roy jumped to his feet and swung his left as hard as he could before he realized it was a girl’s voice. As his impaired mind tried to stop the hook he heard the sound a metallic roof gives off when hit by a hammer before he felt a crushing pain in his fist. Roy let out a sigh of relief as he looked under the bar and saw the dent in the bar wall that was made from the same metal some roofs were. He let out a drunken chuckle before he remembered the woman that had startled him.
Slowly Roy turned to the woman “Sorry about that miss I’m not one hundred percent and you surprised me” Roy said slowly making sure to say each word properly. Roy tilted his head to the side as he looked the girl over, not caring to hide his gaze. His eyes went up and down her body several times lingering on the girl’s eyes. He could see that she wasn’t the classic bar girl but the alcohol in his system prevented him from determining why. “I’m sorry miss I didn’t catch your name” he finally added realizing he had done all of this in silence.
“I didn’t give it” the redhead said as she took the stool next to Roy. “But one you didn’t answer my question and two I think you’re too far gone for a real conversation,” she added with a hint of a challenge while she sipped her loki. Her posture was not that of a girl here for a good time or one that indicated she had been drinking a lot that night. She waved at the bartender and asked for something that Roy couldn’t hear. Once she was sure the bartender understood she turned back to face Roy hold out her hand “I’m Sara” she said politely.
Roy took her hand in his squeezing a little tightly, because of his mental state, and shook it “Roy” he said before breaking the hand shake at which point Sara handed him a glass of water. Roy smiled at the notion before he took a big gulp from the pitcher of water. “Thank you I didn’t want to continue my intoxication in the presence of such a beautiful woman” Roy said as he watched Sara sip her drink.
“Well what were you drinking to?” Sara asked as she placed her tankard back on the bar.
“Coming home. I’ve been in Japan for several years training myself in a different style of work than I’m use to.” Roy answered as he tried to keep as much information to himself knowing that information was what this conversation was about.
“So I heard” Sara slipped Roy a card after getting it out of her purse. “You have an appointment in a week hope to see you again.” She said before she finished her drink and stood up. “You have talent and if you make the cut I’d rather work with you than against you. Prove you want to get in the major leagues and I’ll manage you.” She explained before she walked out of the bar. Roy was then left with his thoughts and her card.
“How does she know what I was doing in Japan? How did she know who I was?” Roy thought to himself as he continued to sip at the water while he flipped the card over and over in his free hand before he decided to look at it.[/color] “Sara Alexandria. EUW talent scout. Call me when you get the job. I’ll be waiting.” The card read while also containing the address of the building his interview would be at and Sara’s phone number. “Well I’ll be. It’s my lucky break” Roy said before he finished the glass of water. For the rest of the night Roy sat in the corner thinking about what he was going to say until he sobered up. At that point Roy paid his tab and left to bar to head to the airport.
